*Eligibility conditions apply – psychology supports must be included in your approved NDIS plan. Contact us to confirm your funding pathway.

Does NDIS pay for psychologist sessions? Yes. The NDIS will pay for psychologist sessions for eligible participants when psychology supports are included in your NDIS plan. Funding typically comes from Capacity Building Supports (most commonly Improved Daily Living) and is used to help you build skills, manage your mental health and work toward the goals in your NDIS plan. At Interrelate, we work with self-managed and plan-managed participants – we cannot accept agency-managed NDIS referrals.
Our NDIS psychology service is available to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants of all ages, including children, teenagers, adults and families. Please note we cannot accept agency-managed NDIS referrals. Our sessions are entirely online, so you can live anywhere in Australia and access ongoing professional support. Children under 16 require consent from a parent or guardian before accessing services.
Yes. Interrelate’s psychologists are NDIS registered psychologists, fully accredited with AHPRA and experienced in supporting NDIS participants. We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants – please note we cannot accept agency-managed referrals. If you need confirmation of our NDIS provider psychologist details for your plan manager, just let us know.
We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you self-manage your funding, you'll pay upfront and claim reimbursement through your NDIS portal – we'll provide clear invoices with everything you need. If you're plan-managed, your plan manager handles the invoice directly. Please note we cannot accept agency-managed NDIS referrals.
Psychology supports are typically funded under Capacity Building Supports – most commonly the Improved Daily Living category, though other Capacity Building support categories may apply depending on your plan and goals.
Whether you can move funding between categories depends on how it’s listed in your plan. If your Capacity Building funding is ‘flexible’, you can shift it across support categories within the same support budget. If it’s ‘stated’, it can only be used for the specific support described.
If you're not sure which applies to you, please contact your caseworker for advice.
The NDIS psychologist rate is set each year in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements published by the NDIA. Interrelate’s NDIS clinical psychologist rate is fully aligned with the current NDIS price guide, meaning eligible participants pay nothing out of pocket. If you have specific questions about how your sessions will be charged against your plan, call us on 1300 473 528 and we'll walk you through it.
No – you don't need a GP referral to see an NDIS psychologist. Unlike Medicare-funded psychology (which requires a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP), NDIS-funded psychology only requires that psychology supports are included in your approved NDIS plan. You'll just need your NDIS plan details and participant number when you book.
Both NDIS and Medicare can help pay for psychology sessions, but they work differently. Medicare-funded psychology is available to anyone with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP and covers up to 10 sessions per calendar year. NDIS-funded psychology is available to eligible NDIS participants whose plan includes psychology supports – there's no annual session limit, and funding is based on the goals in your NDIS plan rather than a cap on visits. You can't use both funding pathways for the same session. If you're unsure which is right for you, call us on 1300 473 528.
Interrelate provides NDIS psychology services for children aged 8 and above, as well as teenagers and adolescents. To book an NDIS child psychologist or adolescent psychologist, call us on 1300 473 528 and we'll match your child with the most suitable clinician for their age, needs and NDIS goals. Please note that children under 16 require consent from a parent or guardian, and the child must be a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participant.
