As part of The National Redress Scheme, established in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, we can provide free counselling including support to access compensation. This service is available until 30th June 2027.

 

Who is This For?

This service is for people who have been affected by institutional child sexual abuse, including their families and carers. 

 

How We Can Help You

With the support of a specialised and understanding counsellor we can provide you with client-focused support associated with the Redress Scheme - this includes:

  • counselling support
  • assistance with completing applications including descriptions
  • emotional support throughout the application and outcomes process
  • warm referrals to legal and financial support services and other counselling and psychological care providers
  • assistance once an offer has been accepted to engage the institution for a direct personal response
  • assistance with gaining practical support during the application process such as housing, health, mental health, financial and aged care services

How to Prepare

There is nothing you need to prepare. When you meet with us together we will explore your unique needs and work with you to find a suitable and effective way forward.

 

Where to Access This Session

We strive to be as accessible as possible. Our Redress Support Service is available in-person, over the phone or online. We will be guided by what works best for you.

Please contact us as we are able to provide you with a safe and confidential space where you can feel heard and supported, providing you with counselling and application support, as well as connecting you with other support networks and services that may be beneficial. Please do not hesitate to reach out to talk to us about this service.

Generally applications take approximately 6 - 12 months to be processed by the National Redress Scheme. You can access counselling support through our service during this time.
